Dry shampoo is probably one of the most used products I have in my bathroom. Let’s be real, as mamas we don’t always have time to wash our hair every other day or even a few times a week for that matter. After using traditional aerosol type dry shampoos for years I have been on the hunt for natural alternative for some time now. After careful research and trying these shampoos firsthand, here are my Top 3 Natural Dry Shampoos.

Rahua Voluminous Dry Shampoo
This dry shampoo was the first natural dry shampoo I had tried and it was love at first squeeze! This dry shampoo has a unique squeeze bottle applicator, so you can easily be very heavy handed while applying if you press too firmly. Out of all 3 options this has the finest powder and gives the most build-able volume. It is 100% natural, rainforest grown, vegan, cruelty-free, and made with USDA certified organic ingredients.
How To Apply
- Twist the upper cap to open the dispenser, then shake and squeeze bottle to spray the powder on your roots
- Let powder sit for a few minutes while the powder soaks up all the oil
- Rub your hands through your hair to work in the product
Ingredients: Fuller’s Earth (Clay), Organic Tapioca Starch (Cassava Root), Illicium Verum (Star Anise), Vanilla Planifolia, Citric Acid.
Green & Gorgeous Organics Lavender & Bergamot Organic Dry Shampoo
This dry shampoo took me some time to master, plus I didn’t read the instructions before using it the first time so that might have helped! Green & Gorgeous has a great video tutorial that would be great to watch before your first application. The scent of this dry shampoo is sooo good it smells earthy and fresh all at the same time. It is talc free, vegan and free of parabens and sulfates. This brand has a line for brunettes, which I definitely want to try when I run out of this bottle.
How to Apply
- Pour a small amount of dry shampoo powder into your hand
- Use a powder brush or puff to apply along your roots
- Starting from one ear, part your hair and apply the powder to each section’s roots. Repeat until you reach the other side of your head
- For each section, buff the shampoo powder into the roots evenly
- With your fingers, massage, fluff, and style your hair as usual. Wait 3-4 minutes for the powder to absorb the oil and dust away any extra powder

Acure Dry Shampoo
This is the option that is most comparable to drugstore dry shampoo prices at only $7! This is not only the least expensive option and I have to say favorite just because it gives the biggest bang for your buck. Not only does it soak up oil wonderfully but it’s easy shaker bottle makes it so easy to apply. It is vegan, sulfate free, paraben and cruelty free.
How to Apply
Twist open the cap and squeeze container to puff the dry shampoo onto your brush or directly into the hair (this is the method I use, sprinkle onto your hair lightly) . Work into the scalp and comb through to the ends.
